Follow in the footsteps of the glassblowers who settled in Flühli in 1768. Using the simplest means, the masters in the Egglenen created glass of extraordinary variety and astonishing quality. However, the enormous wood consumption also caused large landscape damages, which are vividly documented on the path with information panels.
Starting from the Windtrüeb monument at the village bridge in Flühli, you proceed upstream on the dam path for about 500 meters to the Thorbach bridge, where the first panel stands on the west side. Then follow the hiking trail on the right (eastern) bank of the Waldemme and cross the cantonal road at the Rotbach bridge. On a solid path, you head east into the Kragen. At the former lime mill, a mountain path begins that leads past the sulfur spring to the impressive suspension bridge. After crossing the Chessiloch gorge via the suspension bridge, it becomes steep and rocky until you reach a road again at Holzhack. After the farmstead in the Sattelschlucht, you reach the Stäldelistrasse, turn downhill after about 100 meters to the left, and arrive on a well-developed forest road to Rotbach. The path now follows the official hiking trail to the Teufimattsattel. From there it goes quite steeply down the Satzwald to Alp Satz, then on a good road via Alpweid to Sörenberg. From here, you can take the post bus back to Flühli, Schüpfheim or Giswil. Experienced and enduring hikers have the option to return from Teufimattsattel over the Hagleren via Mittlist-Gfäl, Junkholz and Churzenhütten (walking time 2 hrs 50 min) or take another variant back to the starting point.
